Visual Diary

These flowers grow across the road from my work,

where we are lucky to have a small reserve.

We had some much-needed rain today.

I wish it would rain in Victoria to stop the bush fires.

I visited my mum after work today. There were no roses

in her garden as she'd clipped them to make a floral arrangement.

I took a close-up of the thorns instead and played around with the colour in picnik.

This flower is in the house adjacent to my school.

I had to lean over the side fence to take this shot.

I must have looked rather strange to the passers-by.

After being on holidays for five weeks our school's organic vegie patch was the first thing I noticed upon walking into school this morning. I did take photos of the lettuce plant and the juicy tomatoes but they didn't turn out.

This red-orange plant is a marigold and Marion explained that it is planted in vegie gardens as a natural form of pest management.

The veiny patterns in leaves are interesting to look at.

I may have my students draw these during

art in maths when we cover 2-dimensional shapes.

I like the soft petals of this rose and

how I can still see the bud in the centre.

I took this while walking past a neighbouring block of units.
