This lorikeet was on a lower branch than usual.
They are good at hiding behind foliage.
Caught an unusual sight along the river this afternoon.
There were three and we think they're backyard escapees.
Lorikeets usually fly and feed on very tall native plants. I was lucky to have
captured this one feeding on a grevillea shrub.
Woke up this morning to Sam's empty shell. There was no sign of Sam anywhere. He must have been hiding beneath the sand.
We saw him the next day, in a different shell.
He only remained in this new shell for one day before moving back into his old one.
I stopped by the river on the way home this afternoon. These pelicans actually live here,
even though there is quite a bit of pollution.
This wasp and his five friends are buzzing around the park bench where some of us have recess in the morning.
Obviously we're not a threat at the moment, as none of us has been stung.
Here is the tank in which my hermit crabs live. Land hermit crabs prefer tropical, humid climates.
We have an under-tank heater to keep the environment within the tank at a suitable temperature. Wet sea-sponges and wet driftwood keep the tank moist.
